Supporting the Children’s Bible Study in the Dominican Republic
A LEGACY OF LOVE
A Legacy of Love:
Supporting the Children’s Bible Study
in the Dominican Republic
In September 2025, Karent Mitchell returned to her childhood home in the Dominican Republic—the very place where her journey of faith began over twenty years ago. It was there that she first opened her home to neighborhood children, inviting them to learn about the love of Jesus through weekly Bible study. What started as a simple act of obedience grew into a lasting ministry that continues to touch lives today.
Every Saturday, the children still come—often without their parents—excited to sing, pray, and learn from God’s Word. For many, this gathering has become a sanctuary of hope and joy, where they feel seen, valued, and loved.
Just a year after Karent began the ministry, her aunt Carmen joined her in the effort. Together, they poured their hearts into teaching and guiding the children. Though Karent now lives in the United States, Aunt Carmen has remained faithfully leading the Bible study week after week. Through their shared devotion, hundreds of children have been taught about Christ’s love, many of whom have grown into faithful adults carrying the message forward.
During our recent visit to the Dominican Republic, the World Prayer Center team had the privilege of witnessing this enduring ministry firsthand. The children’s radiant smiles and eagerness to learn reminded us of God’s faithfulness through generations.
We are honored to support this ongoing mission, providing encouragement and resources to help sustain this work that began in love and continues through faith. The story of Karent and Carmen is a powerful reminder that when we plant seeds in God’s name, He causes them to grow—blessing lives far beyond what we could ever imagine.
